| Ullswater
and the Lake District National Park
The beauty
of the Lake District is really beyond words. Wordsworth, Wainwright and
many others have described many aspects of this beautiful corner of the
world, but you need to experience it for yourself.
Ullswater is
the Lake District's second largest lake - and we think it is the most
beautiful. The backdrop to Ullswater is the majestic fells that have always
inspired poets, artists and walkers. And it still has the same effect
today - in winter and in summer. Stybarrow Cottage is ideally located
for exploring the Lake District National Park and the Ullswater valley.
From the cottage door Helvellyn, High Street, Fairfield and Place Fell
can all be reached on foot. There is also a wide choice of water based
activities, including Ullswater Steamers, boat hire and Glenridding sailing
school. And you can explore all this from our holiday
cottage. But enough of our blurb, we'll let the pictures speak for
themselves.
